The Early 1980's
Sorry, there are still a couple from the early 1980's I'm missing. The 1982 Early Bird and the 1985 patch are not shown here.
If you have, or know of here I can find, some of those that I'm missing so that I can scan them or get images of them, please write me and let me know.
This is one of a few examples of a break in the trend of "Bird" patches.
Note that the 1980 patch and the '80 Early Bird are great examples of matching designs.
Even though this patch didn't feature a bird, it still had "Early Bird" written on it.
After a year of other designs, they finally went back to the birds.
This is one of the first patches in quite a few years to be really colorful.
This patch featured a Great Blue Heron. The lucky bird watcher will spot one of these beautiful birds every once in a great while on Scouter's Pond.
They finally featured Michigan's State bird on one of the patches.
For some strange reason they decided to match up the '85 Early Bird patch with the '84 regular patch. The logic here escapes me.
